Wildlife on the move

Spring in full swing and wildlife is on the move! wildlife will be out and about enjoying the spring weather just as much as we are so a reminder to keep your dogs on leash around foreshore and wetland areas

Never let your dog charge into a wetland as they can injure or scare away parent birds, leaving their young orphaned. Ducklings and baby waterbirds that are unable to fly will not survive without their parents. Many birds also use the fringing vegetation to nest in, so your dog may accidentally trample a nest! Lastly, we know that snakes are about, so keep your pup safe too by keeping them on leash in these areas.
