River Guardians is a Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) initiative and is delivered by dedicated staff in the Rivers and Estuaries and Public Information and Corporate Affairs branches. We take immense pride in engaging and uniting our community on matters concerning our precious waterways.
At River Guardians, we envision a future where the Swan and Canning rivers and their tributaries, flourish as thriving ecosystems, cherished by both present and future generations. Our ultimate goal is to foster a community that is deeply connected to these water bodies and actively involved in their sustainable management and conservation.
Our mission is two-fold: to safeguard the ecological health of the Swan and Canning rivers and their tributaries, and to empower our community to be active participants in their protection. Through innovative initiatives and collaborative efforts, we strive to preserve the natural beauty of Perth’s iconic rivers, create awareness about their fragility, and inspire meaningful action to preserve their pristine state for years to come.
