River tales

The iconic Swan and Canning rivers are a major part of our lives, vital as a recreational and social feature of our city and a great tourist attraction. They are one of the great things that make us proud to be West Australian.

Whether you are riding your bike or walking, paddling or sailing, fishing or swimming, having a picnic with friends or just driving past our rivers, they are a valued part of our lives.

There are many stories to be told about our rivers and River Guardians wants to share them with you.

If you have photos or stories you would like to share about the rivers, send them to
guardians@swanrivertrust.wa.gov.au and we will publish selected items on this website.

Some of the stories we have so far include:

Canoeist and pelicans
